Garden City Therapy provides virtual psychotherapy for adults across Long Island and New York State. Sessions are held securely online. Clients attend from home or any private location. This allows consistent care without travel time or commuting stress.
We work with adults seeking support for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, general emotional stress and personal growth and wellness. Many clients prefer online therapy for flexibility and privacy. Virtual sessions are structured the same as in person therapy. The only difference is the setting.
We accept many major commercial insurance plans and Managed Medicaid plans. These include Anthem BCBS, Fidelis, HealthFirst, and UHC Community Plan, and more. Courtesy insurance guidance is available for Managed Medicaid. We also work accept NYSHIP out of network and submit claims on your behalf.

What technology do I need for virtual therapy?
You need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a browser, camera and microphone. You also need a stable internet connection and a private space. No download of sign in needed. Phone only sessions are permitted as well upon request.
Where do virtual sessions take place?
Sessions are held securely online. Clients attend from home or any private location. You just need to be in NYS at the time of the session as well.

Do you accept insurance for virtual therapy?
Yes. We accept major commercial insurance plans such as Anthem BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Magnacare, and Managed Medicaid and Essential plans including Fidelis, HealthFirst, and UHC Community Plan.
What if my Managed Medicaid plan has a lapse?
We provide courtesy guidance to help with re-enrollment.
How do I know if my insurance covers virtual therapy?
After you submit an appointment request, our administrative team will verify your insurance and explain your coverage.
What should I expect during my first virtual session?
Your therapist will get to know you and your goals, take some background information, and explore what is occuring for you. You can ask questions. Sessions feel similar to in person therapy.
Can I switch therapists if needed?
Yes. If you feel another therapist may be a better fit, we will help you make a change.
